I'm posting!

So as you can see I only really post on my own blog, but right now we're in the States raising support, so I thought I should update this blog more as I'm promoting the jewelry ministry...so here's a little update!

We just came back to the States this past week and are planning on being here through February. During the weeks (and months) leading up to this trip I was working with the women to make lots of jewelry to bring to sell up here...it was so much fun! My prayer for the next few months is to be able to sell everything I brought so that I can support more women when I go back home.

Yesterday, Kim invited me to a womens group in Salem County to come share at a breakfast they have every few months...I had a wonderful time getting to know some of the women there, listening to the speaker and then I had some time at the end to share about the jewelry ministry. I set up a table in the back with the jewelry and had so much fun talking to all the women and getting to sell the jewelry!

I have some inhome parties set up and some more Bible studies in the next few weeks, and if you're interested in hosting something at your home/church/school/bible study, etc...please feel free to contact me at susannacummings(at)gmail(dot)com. I really appreciate all your interest & support! I have felt so encouraged by all your emails & love!

My hope is to keep this blog updated especially during our home service here...and to SOON get pictures up too! I know a lot of you have asked how to buy...the reason I haven't set up a website is because the shipping costs from Mexico are too much and make it impossible for that to be an option...so I only sell individually or mostly through bazaars, inhome parties, craft shows, etc...whatever works for YOU!

Let's give it a go

I'm starting a new blog for my jewelry business out of sheer laziness to set up a real website. I'm not sure how much I'm actually going to do on here, but I just wanted to have it in case I felt the urge to write.

I've been designing and making jewelry just for fun for some time now. As my love and interesty grew, I began to sell and the idea for my business grew. Shalom Designs is a business I started one, out of my love for designing and making jewelry, and two, to enable young mothers to work from home instead of leaving their children alone while they work 12 hour factory shifts. It is my hope that through this business I can encourage mothers to focus on their children, and not have to leave them unattended for hours at a time, while earning necessary income to support their families. I have a burden for the women in Santa Ana, and Shalom Designs is my way to use creativity and beauty to help better lives, in some small way.
